MASTER SUITE ADDITION
AN "L" SHAPED ADDITION TO AN OTHERWISE ORDINARY FLAT REAR FACADE
back ground
to this 1400 S/F 1960's home. Typical for this era, the
original house with small bedrooms and closet sized
master bathroom, does not meet the needs of modern
living.

The challenge was to build a Master Suite addition
within the parameters of not over building on the lot
and not breaking the bank.

The solution was to design a moderately sized master
bedroom then add a bay window that creates more of
a visually feel of a large room while keeping the actual
S/F size to a minimum.

Thickened wall sections at

impression of architectural mass.
In the master bath we used an open design with an arch opening over the tub that is in line with
the French doors that lead out to the back yard and pool. This master bath has all the amenities
you would expect in a new home (spa tub, large shower with seat, double vanity and private
toilet room) while maintaining spatial economy.
